    Healthy Kids 2009

    Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

Today’s Parent and BGCC support getting kids active today to ensure a healthy tomorrow.

Last month, Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada announced the launch of a joint advocacy initiative with Today’s Parent, through its Healthy Kids 2009 program, to raise awareness of the need to provide all Canadian children with the opportunities they need to be active, eat right and grow up healthy. If you haven’t already added your voice to our joint “call-to-action” to the federal government to support the creation of more opportunities for kids to be physically activity through after school programs, please take a moment now.

    Here’s How You Can Help:

Please join us in asking the federal government to address the health and social inequities that exist among Canadian children, by supporting better access for all Canadian children to affordable, active after-school programs.

    1) Click this link to send a letter of support for this initiative to your local MP: http://www.bgccan.com/todaysparent.asp

    2) Share this message with your network of friends, colleagues and family and encourage them to send a letter.

Stay tuned for a feature story in June on how a family in British Columbia has benefited from participation in BGCC’s healthy living after school program, Cool Moves.
