Odlum Brown Gingerbread Village

Kick off your holiday season with a visit to the gingerbread village. The lobby at Crown Isle Resort is an idyllic setting to see the marvelous creations made of gingerbread and the beautiful bears, dressed and accessorized.  Vote for your favourite gingerbread, or place a bid on any of the displays- a great way to decorate your home for the holiday season. All displays are available through our silent auction, and will be ready to take home on December 13th. Bidding closes at 2 pm December 13, after “Breakfast with Santa”.  All proceeds from the Gingerbread Village support the Comox Valley Boys & Girls Club!

8th Annual Odlum Brown Gingerbread Village With Bears!

Get your team together and build the house of your dreams …. gingerbread house, that is! Or purchase & decorate a bear for Silent Auction.

Purchase your building lot and then get out the baking pans (or the gingerbread kit), the flavoured gumdrops and the icing sugar.

Residential lots can be purchased for $35,

Heritage lots for $50,

Commercial lots for $100

School Class or Children’s Entry for $10.

Get together with friends, family or a group and dress up your bear ~ for example a photography bear, a fishing bear, a kayaking bear, or even a skiing bear!

Take your completed gingerbread house to Crown Isle on Friday, November 27 from 4- 7 pm or Saturday, November 28 from noon till 5 pm. Bears can be dropped off at these times, or at the Boys & Girls Club, 367- 11th Street, Monday to Thursday 9 am to 1 pm until November 26th.

For alternate arrangements, please call the Boys & Girls Club.

Judging is by popular vote. Prizes will be awarded for all four categories .

ParentsTogether is a modified self-help group for parents experiencing conflict with their teen. The members offer encouragement and support while parents develop and strengthen new skills to meet the challenges in raising teenagers today. Parents realize that they are not alone in their caring, concern, or efforts to promote change and maintain healthy relationships in the family.

Parenting Without Power Struggles

At Parenting Without Power Struggles, parents of children aged 9-13 years can strengthen and gain new understanding and skills in communication, pre-teen development, boundary setting, and self-care. The weekly meetings provide information, support, and encouragement for parents of pre-teens. Parenting Without Power Struggles recognizes that families come in many different forms yet face similar challenges when raising pre-teens in the world today.
